Business is GREAT Britain

The road show is part of the GREAT campaign, the British government’s international marketing programme to enhance bilateral collaboration by showcasing the very best of what Britain has to offer.

The GREAT Lucknow trade road show is the fifth in the series of 10 such events across India. It will highlight the best of British in the areas of:

  • inward investment
  • energy
  • infrastructure
  • agriculture
  • Vocational Skills.

It will focus on how business owners, entrepreneurs and industrialists can benefit from collaboration. The event is organized in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The GREAT Lucknow trade road show will be held at Vivanta by Taj on 29 January. It will include a series of sessions featuring important figures and delegates from various sectors from the UK. Representatives of the Uttar Pradesh government will discuss the avenues for business owners to benefit from British expertise.

On the prospect of the GREAT trade road show coming to Lucknow, Barry Lowen, Director, UKTI India, said,

The UK is open to business with India. The partnership is long-standing, and we want more trade and investment, based on the natural fit between the two countries. The GREAT campaign has seen a lot of success in India in the regions that we’ve covered so far. Uttar Pradesh (UP) is a very promising state and the potential to grow business here is immense. The GREAT trade road show will focus on sectors in which UP & Lucknow have a distinct advantage, and where the UK’s companies can offer world-class expertise to contribute to further business growth. The UK is the third largest investor in India, and attracts more investment from India than the rest of the EU put together. But we want even more Indian companies to develop their business in and with the UK.

Mr. Ved Krishna, Past Chairman, CII (UP State Council), said,

It is immensely encouraging to see the British Government to come forward for active involvement in the State of Uttar Pradesh. We whole heartedly welcome this development and hope our ties will strengthen further. The GREAT trade road show is the right platform for businessmen looking to grow business and CII is pleased to associate to strengthen the business ties between Britain and India.
