On 4 March 2015 Her Majesty’s Ambassador Mr George Edgar visited the Association of International Business and Technologies - AMBiT in Tashkent to discuss prospects of cooperation between British and Uzbek companies.

The Ambassador was received at AMBiT office in the TechnoPlaza Business Centre, where he had a short tour around the building and heard about the services AMBiT offers to Uzbek and foreign companies.

Mr Hikmat Abdurahmanov, Chairman of AMBiT’s Supervisory Board, briefed the Ambassador about the Association’s role in developing entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan by assisting its members - more than 150 local companies - and partners to acquire modern equipment and technologies, know-how and managerial experience.

During the meeting, the Ambassador and AMBiT’s management discussed potential co-operation to promote British goods and expertise in a range of sectors, and to intensify contact between Uzbek and British companies and businessmen.

Summing up the results of the meeting the Ambassador said:

The British Government and the Embassy are keen to see a more active business and investment relationship between the UK and Uzbekistan. I look forward to working with AMBiT to support closer contacts in the interests of both our countries.
