Learn about the latest cutting edge analytical methods and research developments aimed at beating food fraud at the 2-day Government Chemist conference, ‘Beating the cheats: Quality, safety and authenticity in the food chain’.
Single day tickets cost £130 + VAT (£156) or a 2-day ticket costs £190 + VAT (£228).
Professor Chris Elliott will open the conference on 24 November with a keynote presentation outlining the conclusions from his review into the integrity and assurance of food supply networks.
The programme over the 2-day event includes several representatives from government agencies, including Chun-Han Chan, from the Food Standards Agency, who will highlight the implications of the Food Information Regulations 2014 due to come into force in December. Paul Brereton, from the Food and Environment Research Agency, will outline the Food Integrity project which aims to address many of the post-horsemeat scandal issues at a European level and Lucy Foster from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will discuss the priorities and challenges relating to food authenticity.
Speakers from Campden BRI and Leatherhead Food Research will describe how measurement can ensure the quality and authenticity of food products and Liz Moran, President of the Association of Public Analysts, will discuss the modernisation of the public analyst service.
