Bomb attack in Mogadishu

Foreign Office Minister Mark Simmonds has unreservedly condemned today's bomb attack.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Minister for Africa, Mark Simmonds said:

“The UK unreservedly condemns today’s bomb attack near the Somali Parliament in Mogadishu. My thoughts are with the families of the victims and those injured. Coming so soon after the Somali Prime Minister announced the appointment of a Council of Ministers, this attack is a further unsuccessful attempt to disrupt the important progress being made by the new Somali government. It only serves to strengthen our resolve to continue to support the Somali people.”
