The Turkish Red Crescent Sancaktepe Branch and the British Consulate General in Istanbul have held a blood donation campaign as part of the “Safe Blood Supply Programme”, a long term social responsibility project undertaken by the Turkish Red Crescent.

This was a unique initiative. For the first time in its history Turkish Red Crescent organized a joint blood donation campaign with a foreign mission in Turkey.

For the launch of the campaign Sancaktepe officials visited the Consulate General where Deputy President of Turkish Red Crescent Selçuk Çetin and the British Deputy Consul General signed a protocol on future cooperation.

During the campaign, Consular staff donated 70 units of blood to the Turkish Red Crescent.

At the end of the campaign Turkish Red Crescent officials thanked Rafe Courage on behalf of the Consulate personnel for their donations and support and presented him with a plaque.
