Baroness Warsi started the meeting by offering her thoughts and condolences to the family and friends of those that lost their lives when the building collapsed in Savar. They then discussed the upcoming elections, recent violence and the International Crimes Tribunal.
Speaking after the meeting, Baroness Warsi said:
This is an important year for Bangladesh with Parliamentary elections due by January 2014. Today, I have been clear that violence and vandalism have no place in politics and have encouraged the government to work with all parties on dialogue that supports free, fair and inclusive elections.
