Anniversary Statement: Exodus Deltajet 500 Stingray, G-CMYY

Struck fence during landing and rolled inverted at East Fortune Airfield, East Lothian, on 8 May 2025

This statement provides an update on the AAIB investigation into a fatal accident involving an Exodus Deltajet 500 Stingray flex-wing microlight (registration G-CMYY) which occurred during landing.  The aircraft struck a wire fence at the approach end of Runway 11, pitched up and rolled beyond inverted, before hitting the ground on its right side, fatally injuring the pilot and seriously injuring the rear-seat passenger.  A section of the top wire of the fence was found wrapped around the propeller shaft.

The investigation into this event is nearing completion and a final report will be published in due course.
