Alistair Burt condemns Kabul attack

Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt has condemned an attack on ISAF personnel in which at least 19 Afghan civilians were killed.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Alistair Burt said:

“The UK Government condemns this morning’s terrible attack in Kabul in which we understand a number of ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) personnel and at least 19 Afghan civilians were killed, and many more wounded. Our sincere condolences go out to their families. The insurgents have shown a total disregard for innocent life.

“The UK and international community’s commitment to support the Afghan government and people to work for a political solution, including through the Peace Jirga at the end of this month, will not be shaken.”
