A re-inspection of the use of hotels for housing unaccompanied asylum-seeking children

In line with his 2023-24 inspection plan, the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration has commenced a re-inspection of the use of hotels for housing unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

The inspection will have a particular focus on implementation of the recommendations from the previous inspection of this area in 2022.

The inspection team anticipates reporting to the Home Secretary by October 2023.
