Make Work Pay: revised tipping code of practice
Applies to England, Scotland and Wales
Consultation description
The government is strengthening the law on tipping by introducing new requirements for employers to consult with workers at their place of business when developing or reviewing their tipping policies.
Following an earlier public consultation, between February and April 2026, the government published a draft revised statutory code of practice on fair and transparent distribution of tips.
This consultation provides an opportunity for all interested parties and groups to review the revised code of practice, and the changes which have been made to it, and consider how the government most effectively implements the new requirements on tipping.
