Improving Property Income Data Reporting
Consultation description
This consultation seeks views on proposals to reform the reporting of property income data to HMRC by letting agents and tenancy deposit scheme providers.
The government is considering changes to the information that should be reported, the use of tax identifiers, reporting frequency and timeliness, and how any future reporting requirements could be implemented in a proportionate and effective way.
The proposals aim to improve the quality, consistency and timeliness of property income data available to HMRC, helping taxpayers get their tax right, supporting digital services and improving tax administration.
