8 April 2020: update

We’re pausing this request for views on the ELM policy discussion. While the country deals with the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we will not be accepting any new responses. Once it is practical to do so, we will reopen the Policy Discussion Document giving everyone the opportunity to respond.

During the pause we will not be actively engaging on the Policy Discussion Document. We remain committed to ELM being a scheme co-designed with and for farmers, foresters and other land managers. We will look to resume the discussion and hold the planned regional events as soon as it is possible to do so. To receive updates and news about ELM and the Policy Discussion Document sign up to Defra e-alerts.

We want to know what you think about our initial thinking for the Environmental Land Management (ELM) Scheme. We are committed to co-designing the ELM scheme, to create something that allows business to thrive and provides environmental improvements.

We will also be holding regional events to discuss our proposals with you and to get your views. Details including dates and locations will follow soon.
