On 11 December 2014 the Secretary of State, Ed Davey, published his decision as Justifying Authority that the nuclear reactor design, Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy, Ltd’s UK Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (UK ABWR), should be Justified. The decision is taken by the making of regulations by way of statutory instrument and this has been laid in draft in both Houses of Parliament.

The decision has taken into account responses to this consultation.
