These publications show the number of claimants (single or joint households with any dependent children or young people) affected by the policy to provide support for a maximum of 2 children.
Final release
Between 6 April 2017 and 5 April 2026, families receiving Universal Credit or Child Tax Credit could claim support for up to 2 children. As this policy has ended, the July 2026 publication was the final release of these statistics.
