The Services Mobility Agreement (SMA) allows UK professionals to work in Switzerland for up to 90 days without a work permit from 1 January 2021. Swiss professionals will be able to deliver contracts in the UK in specified skilled sectors through the Global Business Mobility Service Supplier visa.

The SMA also established a working group, for the UK and Switzerland to develop a comprehensive agreement on the recognition of professional qualifications for service suppliers working in each other’s markets. This agreement has now been signed.

In November 2022, the UK and Switzerland agreed to extend the agreement for an additional 3 years.

In October 2025, the UK and Switzerland agreed to extend the agreement for a further 4 years, bringing the expiration date to 31 December 2029.
