Treasury minutes progress report

The Treasury Officer of Accounts ensure that Department’s respond fully to the progress on implementing the Public Accounts Committee's recommendations

Following the Public Accounts Committee’s report Accountability for Public Money, the Committee of Public Accounts (the committee) expects high standards of public administration and for government departments, and their agencies, to take seriously its recommendations.

The committee has requested regular information on implementation of its recommendations and will recall accounting officers if it is not satisfied with the quality of the department’s performance after committee hearings.

Treasury Minutes: progress on implementing recommendations replaces the need for departments to report on the committee’s recommendations in their departmental annual report. The Treasury will, twice a year, request departments to report on their progress through special edition Treasury Minute.
