Some professional deputies are called ‘panel deputies’. They are appointed by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).
Panel deputies support people who lack mental capacity by helping them to make decisions about their finances.
The Court of Protection chooses deputies from this list when no one else is willing or able to act as a deputy for someone who lacks mental capacity.
