On 25 May 2023 the government commissioned an independent review to consider the specific allegations made and Tees Valley Combined Authority’s oversight of the South Tees Development Corporation and Teesworks Joint Venture.
The Minister for Housing, Planning and Building Safety, Lee Rowley MP announced in an oral statement on 29 January 2024 that the report from the independent review panel, chaired by Angie Ridgwell, had been published.
On 28 February the mayor’s initial response to the review was received and it was published on 7 March 2024.
