Horizon Convictions Redress Scheme (HCRS): applicant information
Information for applicants to the Horizon Convictions Redress Scheme (HCRS).
From 3 June 2025, Overturned Convictions (OC) scheme claims, previously administered by the Post Office, are administered by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) as part of the HCRS. If you have an outstanding OC claim and you or your legal representative have not heard from DBT, contact horizonconvictionsredress@businessandtrade.gov.uk.
You’re eligible for the HCRS if you’ve had a conviction quashed (which means it has been overturned) by either:
- the Post Office (Horizon System) Offences Act 2024
- the Post Office (Horizon System) Offences (Scotland) Act 2024
- a court ruling
If your conviction was overturned by the courts, your legal representative at the time should have been notified of your eligibility by the Post Office under the previous Overturned Convictions scheme.
