Food Standards Agency impact and de minimis assessments
Published impact and de minimis assessments by the Food Standards Agency.
An impact assessment is a policy tool to assess impacts of options considered, including the expected costs and benefits, and summarises the rationale for government intervention.
De minimis assessments are proportionate assessments or estimates of the impacts for measure certified as below the de minimis threshold (currently set at ± £10 million equivalent annual net direct cost to business (EANDCB)).
Understanding the impact of proposed changes to our regulatory approach is fundamental to good policy making.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) usually publish impact and de minimis assessments as consultations on GOV.UK to gather stakeholder evidence. After considering evidence, a final stage impact assessment or de minimis assessment is published on GOV.UK.
