Enterprise Investment Scheme, Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme and Social Investment Tax Relief statistics

EIS, SEIS and SITR are tax-based Venture Capital Schemes, designed to help smaller higher-risk trading companies and social enterprises to raise finance.

These publications provide information about the number of companies receiving investment under the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and the number of social enterprises receiving investment from the Social Investment Tax Relief (SITR), along with the amount of funds.

The statistics for EIS and SEIS include breakdowns by industry sector, companies’ registered addresses and the size of investment. It also provides information on the number of investors and the amounts invested, as reported on investors’ Self Assessment tax returns. Statistics on advance assurance requests for EIS, SEIS and SITR are also provided. The May 2018 release includes all the tables that were previously spread across the April and October publications.
