FCO economic analysis and research

Economic analysis and research undertaken by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and its network.

Economics shapes and changes the world in which we live. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has strengthened its worldwide economic network in recent years, particularly in the emerging economies. The insights and knowledge we gain from this network influence and improve our foreign policy.

The FCO is committed to using this resource in support of UK business. This regular bulletin, the first of its kind, offers a selection of recent analysis produced by the FCO. We hope that it is useful to businesses operating in, or looking to move into, international markets. A wider selection of country-specific analysis is available through the Overseas Business Risk service as part of the FCO Charter for Business.

We hope you will find the information and analysis included useful and thought-provoking.

Sir Simon Fraser, Permanent Under Secretary, FCO

Sir Richard Lambert, Non Executive Board Member, FCO
