Discretionary Housing Payments statistics

Statistics on local authorities' use of Discretionary Housing Payment funds.

Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) are awards that can be made by local authorities to Housing Benefit claimants who are experiencing financial difficulty with housing costs.

Since the financial year 2013 to 2014, local authorities have been asked to provide details to the Department for Work and Pensions of their use of Discretionary Housing Payment funds. This information is collected twice yearly, in the middle of the financial year and at the end of the financial year.
