The Digital and Technologies Sector Statistics: Volume 1 release provides statistics on the contribution of the Digital and Technologies (D&T) sector to the UK economy. This is based on a new, company‑level definition of the sector, which provides a more accurate picture of the sector’s scale and performance than Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes. This release is broken down into the following sections:
D&T Definitions:
- The methodology used to produce the new company-level definition
- A SIC‑based proxy (supplementary), which provides a practical approximation where company‑level identifiers cannot be used
