East Midlands bus operator trentbarton has an ongoing policy of providing one-to-one training for people who wish to develop the confidence to use buses more regularly – particularly wheelchair and mobility scooter users.

Trentbarton take an empty bus to the person’s home, or to a location nearby, and allow them to practise boarding, alighting and using the wheelchair zone. Users of the service also get the opportunity to ask questions of the driver and develop an understanding of the driver’s perspective.
