UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) has been involved in many of these shows and its local teams have also been on hand to support the company, stocking its products in Consulate shops and serving them at functions.

In January 2013, Belvoir joined a UKTI Trade Mission to Japan, a market where it already had a major customer. Whilst in Tokyo, the company benefited from briefings by UKTI staff about how to do business in Japan, met its existing customer face-to-face for the first time, and carried out some informal market research. Since the trip, sales to Japan have grown by 30 per cent.

UKTI is involved on some level in many of our efforts to boost our export sales,

says Peter Webster, International Sales Manager of Belvoir Fruit Farms.

If it hadn’t been for the UKTI Trade Mission, I probably wouldn’t have visited Japan this year.

Grantham-based soft drinks company, Belvoir Fruit Farms, uses traditional recipes and methods to produce cordials and pressés. The company has been exporting for over 20 years, in particular to Japan, the US and around Europe.
