You must be registered to run a fishery in Northern Ireland stocking aquatic animals with no intention of placing them on the market.

How to apply

Download an application form from the Department for Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) website.

There are separate forms for:

  • fisheries run for angling purposes only (put and take fisheries)
  • other aquaculture production business in which aquatic animals are kept with no intention of placing them on the market (non-commercial installations)

You must provide information including:

  • your details
  • owner of water and/or operator of fishery, if different
  • details of the fishery or installation
  • the species present

Fines and penalties
