Fresh meat, excluding offal and minced meat, of farmed non-domestic rhinoceroses, elephants and certain even-toed ungulates to the European Union and Northern Ireland: certificate 8269

Apply online for an export health certificate (EHC) to export meat from farmed non-domestic animals such as rhinos and elephants from Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) to the EU or move it to Northern Ireland.

If you’re in England, Scotland or Wales you must apply online for an export health certificate (EHC) to export fresh meat of farmed non-domestic animal to the EU or to move it to Northern Ireland.

If you’re in Northern Ireland, you do not need an EHC to export to the EU. Contact DAERA on 02877 442 060 to find out what you need to do.

New legislation was introduced for Third Country exports to the EU from 21 April 2021. Some new EHCs do not need to be used until 15 January 2022, at which time they will replace existing EU EHCs. This EHC will remain available for use until 15 January 2022. Anyone exporting to the EU from 15 January 2022 will need to apply for the new EHC at which point in time, this EHC will be withdrawn from use.

Applying online means you can:

  • see the status of your applications
  • always use the latest version of the EHC
  • copy existing applications
  • apply for blocks of certificates
