Phase 1

CMA clearance decision

29 March 2021: The CMA has cleared the anticipated acquisition by Uber International B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Uber Technologies, Inc., of GPC Computer Software Limited and its subsidiaries (Autocab).

Statutory timetable restarted

2 February 2021: The CMA is satisfied that the information required by the CMA in a Notice under section 109 of the Enterprise Act 2002 has been provided by GPC Computer Software Limited and its subsidiaries (Autocab) as required by the Notice.

Statutory timetable suspended

1 February 2021: The statutory timetable was suspended on 1 February 2021 when GPC Computer Software Limited and its subsidiaries (Autocab) failed to provide information required by the CMA in a Notice under section 109 of the Enterprise Act 2002 by the deadline.

Launch of merger inquiry

29 January 2021: The CMA announced the launch of its merger inquiry by notice to the parties.

Invitation to comment: now closed

29 January 2021: The CMA is considering whether it is or may be the case that this transaction, if carried into effect, will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.

To assist it with this assessment, the CMA invites comments on the transaction from any interested party.

These comments should be provided by the deadline set out above.
