In December 2010, the OFT launched a formal investigation into suspected anti-competitive arrangements in the transport sector. This investigation was conducted under Chapter I of the Competition Act 1998 and Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.

The investigation was closed in February 2013 on administrative priority grounds.
