CMA clearance decision

2 September 2014: The CMA has cleared the anticipated acquisition by Emerging Products Holding BV (a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Tobacco Int) of Zandera Limited. The full text of the decision is available below:

14 July 2014: The CMA is considering whether this acquisition has resulted in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation has resulted, or may be expected to result, in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.

On 11 July 2014 the CMA notified the parties that they had provided a satisfactory merger notice such that the initial period would commence on 14 July 2014.
