4 March 2020: The CMA has cleared the anticipated acquisition by Jacobs U.K. Limited of Wood Nuclear Limited.

Notification of merger inquiry to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

9 January 2020: The CMA brought the anticipated acquisition by Jacobs U.K. Limited of Wood Nuclear Limited and subsidiary and affiliated companies to the attention of the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy under section 57(1) of the Act, as the CMA considered that the transaction may raise public interest considerations under section 58 of the Act.

Invitation to comment: now closed

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is considering whether it is or may be the case that this transaction if carried into effect, will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation may be expected to result, in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.
