CMA clearance decision: 06 May 2014
The decision in this case was announced on 06 May 2014. The full text of the decision is available below:
The statutory and administrative timetables were suspended on 4 February 2014 when the parties failed to provide information required by the OFT in a Notice under section 31 of the Act by the deadline. The timetables were restarted on 14 March 2014 when the information was received.
The OFT is considering whether this acquisition has resulted in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation has resulted, or may be expected to result, in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.
The statutory timetable was suspended on 6 November 2013 when the parties failed to provide information required by the OFT in the enquiry letter under section 31 of the Act. The clock restarted on 30 January 2014, when a satisfactory submission was accepted by the OFT.
Launch of OFT merger inquiry: 4 October 2013
The OFT launched an own-initiative merger investigation by sending an enquiry letter on 4 October 2013, a satisfactory submission was received by the OFT on 30 January 2014.
