Judicial Summary

Whether first contribution condition for new style contributory JSA met - claimant had not worked for 26 weeks in relevant tax year but on being made redundant had received payment in lieu of notice which, if attributed forwards from the week in which the lump sum was actually paid, would give her just over 26 weeks of earnings - section 2 of Jobseekers Act 1995 and regulation 34 of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 2013 considered.
