Yak 18T, HA-YAP

Summary:

While attempting to turn the aircraft to position for engine checks prior to take-off, the pilot was unable to stop the aircraft moving slowly straight ahead and striking the rear of another aircraft. The pilot considered that a combination of a crosswind and slight ground slope may have resulted in the rudder pedals not being centralised. If the rudder pedals are not centralised, the aircraft braking system is not fully effective.
