Rans S6-ES, G-BYKE

Summary:

The pilot had planned a return flight from Hullavington to Enstone airfield. The outbound flight was uneventful and the aircraft landed at 1130 hrs. After a brief stop for refreshments the pilot prepared to take off from Runway 26 where the surface wind was reported to be 180°/15 kt. He decided, because of the crosswind component, to use the first stage of flap and rotate at a speed 10 kt greater than normal. Shortly after take off, at a height of approximately 20 feet, the aircraft rolled to the right. The pilot was unable to control the roll and the right wing and aircraft’s nose struck the runway.
