DHC-8-402 Dash 8, G-JECR

Summary:

The aircraft had been pushed back off the parking stand and the commander had been cleared to start the engines. He delayed the start due to an early push back but as the aircraft was stopped, he was instructed by the ground crew to set the parking brake which was coincident with ATC informing him that there would be no delay in his departure. He confirmed the brakes were set and cleared the ground crew to remove the tow bar. He instructed the co-pilot to start the right engine which caused the forward nose undercarriage doors to close which trapped the ground crewman who was attempting to remove the tow bar.
