Summary:

The aircraft was established on a normal approach to Runway 08 at Popham with landing flap lowered and the approach speed stabilised at 65 kt. The wind was light and variable and just prior to landing, the aircraft was caught by a tail wind component. As the aircraft touched down the nose landing gear was damaged and the pilot abandoned a go-around. The aircraft entered long grass on the south side of the runway and pitched over onto its back. The pilot vacated the aircraft through the normal exit.
