Working for British Embassy Zagreb
The British diplomatic presence in Zagreb consists of the British Embassy in Zagreb. Staff at the mission fall into two groups:
- UK-based staff: career diplomatic staff, employed directly by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in London, and sent to work at posts abroad for periods of 3-5 years
- Locally employed staff: local residents, employed in accordance with local employment law and practices
If you are interested in career opportunities as a UK-based officer with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, please apply directly in London. Further details are available from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office website.

Please be aware that there are limited opportunities for promotion or progression, however, staff are encouraged to apply for other vacancies within the Embassy as they arise.
