We offer a wide range of opportunities including, but certainly not limited to, press and communications, security, administrative, trade & investment, finance, energy, the residence and consular section.
Please note: we only read CVs submitted for specific jobs advertised here since we have limited resources to reply or retain unsolicited applications for employment.
Fares and hotel costs for candidates invited for interview are not paid nor reimbursed. Candidates who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications have not been selected. Please keep checking this page for new jobs within the British Embassy and British Consulates.
The British Embassy Rome, the British Embassy to the Holy See and the British Consulate-General Milan, as part of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), promote internship opportunities as a means of encouraging talented undergraduates to get a taste of FCO/Embassy work.
Local internships will be considered openly with a variety of local universities, ensuring the widest possible pool of candidates, and appointments will be made on merit. The internship will not in any way substitute a work contract nor will it guarantee future employment with the Embassy/British Consulate-General.
Any UK-based students seeking work experience should refer to the working for FCO page on the FCO website.
The British Embassy Rome and the British Consulate-General Milan would welcome expressions of interest from universities or other appropriate bodies interested in facilitating internships with us. For further information read the following full guidance note on internships.
