You may need to get a licence from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) if you intend to abstract water from natural water sources in Scotland, eg coastal waters, watercourses or underground water reserves.

You will only be required to register if your operation is from inland sources of water and between 10 and 50 cubic metres per day, or from coastal and transitional waters.
