You must register your potato seed crop with the Department for Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD).
Classification is carried out by at least 2 inspections by DARD.

Conditions
Once you’re registered:
- you’ll be issued with a growers number
- your details will be added to the annual Northern Ireland Register of Pre-Basic and Basic Seed Potato Crops
- you’ll be able to apply for plant passport labels for your crop
All potatoes marketed will also be inspected by DARD to ensure that quality standards are met.
