STRIVE Learning Lab 17. Defining and measuring partner violence
Abstract
Einstein once said not everything important can be measured. However, an accurate assessment of the magnitude of a problem certainly helps elevate its importance. This Learning Lab reviews what is known about getting accurate measures of violence throughout a woman's lifespan with an emphasis on intimate partner violence. Heise reviews traditional approaches and introduces some new ones, while debating different approaches to identifying a case of abuse.
