Abstract

IAVI believes that effectively managing intellectual property rights can both stimulate innovation and help guarantee access to future AIDS vaccines. This background paper explains what intellectual property is, why it is important, and how IAVI manages intellectual property to advance the field and speed the development of and access to an AIDS vaccine.
