Price of protection: affording mosquito nets in rural India

Abstract

How much are families in India willing to pay for treated mosquito nets? How much government subsidy is needed to make sure the majority of the population are protected from malaria? The London School of Economics, together with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, carried out research into the amount people who could afford to pay for mosquito nets treated with insecticide in Surat, India.
