Abstract

A two stage study, launched in October 2007 to last two years, examines social movements in Peru. The first year is concerned with devoted to mapping existing social movements in Peru, based upon interviews of key informants (social movement leaders and members, experts on the subject, academics, observers) and a literature review. The second year will focus on two or three social movements, thoroughly and meticulously analysing them. The report in Spanish presents details the results of the first years mapping, and the English document is an executive summary of this work.
