Abstract

As well as giving a general description of the Medicines for Malaria Venture, this presentation describes how it deals with intellectual property issues; in general terms, it ensures that MMV has the intellectual property rights it needs to develop antimalarials and make them available in malaria-endemic regions, but no more than is necesary, with private sector partners retaining other rights.
