Information frictions in job descriptions

This paper examines how amenities on job descriptions lead jobseekers to apply or not.

Abstract

In this paper, the authors work with recruiters and jobseekers in India, to examine information frictions in how amenities on job descriptions lead jobseekers to apply or not. They collect data on 7 amenities and compare this data to job posts and use a survey experiment with active jobseekers to measure the effect of these amenities on application decisions. They explore 2 explanations why valued amenities are missing from job posts.
