Framework development for extended producer responsibility (EPR) in e-waste and e-cooking devices in Nepal
Outlines a comprehensive framework for implementing extended producer responsibility (EPR) in managing e-waste and e-cooking devices in Nepal.
Abstract
The proposed framework aims to promote sustainable management of e-waste by ensuring accountability across the product lifecycle, encouraging a transition toward a circular economy. The study identifies key challenges in Nepal’s current waste management practices, such as inadequate infrastructure, weak enforcement of regulations, and limited stakeholder awareness.
This framework is part of the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme.
