Corporate social responsibility and natural disaster reduction in Pakistan.
Abstract
Section 1 introduces Pakistan and its climate, discusses the natural hazards and their disastrous impact on the people, and spells out the methodology of the study. Section 2 contextualises corporate social responsibility in relation to the role of the private sector in the economic development of Pakistan. Section 3 examines the limited data on the private sector's involvement in disaster reduction. It is concluded that corporate social responsibility is a relatively new phenomenon in Pakistan.
